Nominations Committee

In line with previous years, the IABC Victoria will establish a Nominations Committee to ensure that the nominations process is transparent without impacting on the privacy of our members.  This process proves very beneficial to all parties involved and will, therefore, be adhered to for the 2010 AGM.  It is important that representation on the Board consists of the right people in the right positions to ensure value for our members.

Join us for an evening of wine, cheese, and networking to hear how one of the big four accounting firms achieved amazing results through their activity on Facebook, Yammer (a type of in-house Twitter), Twitter and YouTube.

Deloitte Australia is leading the way on social media strategy. In 2008 the firm launched Yammer to engage staff and provide a platform for problem solving. More than 2000 people signed up. The medium has since proved to be a powerful way of testing ideas and gathering feedback. It’s even been used to generate original concepts for an advertising campaign. Deloitte has also established a dedicated YouTube channel and a recruitment initiative on Facebook. Not bad for a firm of accountants!

Internal Communication for the Public Sector

One-day forum, 28 October 2010

Sydney

Within the public sector, a number of challenges have arisen for internal communicators. These challenges include having limited resources and funds, managing communication with little or no support from senior management, employees not understanding the value of communicators’ roles, ever-evolving computing technology and organisations’ ongoing changes. Internal communication practitioners are valuable assets to any organisation.

An expert panel of speakers will be discussing these resource limitations and sharing the latest and most advanced methods for managing communication at this year's internal communication forum tailored specifically for our public sector audience.
